I have a leaving date!
So the date for arrival in Swaziland has been set to 11th January, with the week before in Madrid for the briefing.I'll be living in the purple province, Shiselweni, in the town at the bottom called Nhlangano. Work will mostly happen in the green Lubombo and Shiselweni, with meetings and other occasional bits and pieces in the other two provinces, Hhohho and Manzini, and in Mbabane, the capital.
My job will be to recruit, train and manage a team, which will provide training and support to local partners on issues of nutrition, malnutrition and HIV. These partners are local organisations who are working with people with HIV and have identified nutrition as an area that needs extra support and information. At times, we will also work in the communities to raise the profile of nutrition and malnutrition. This will be especially to help identify those suffering from malnutrition and to transfer them to an appropriate health care facility.
I'm planning to maintain this blog to keep people in the loop with what's going on. If I feel adventurous enough it might even graduate to podcasts, also if I can find things worth recording. For now I'll just be working in London and preparing myself for the year ahead. If anything new happens or I get more updates, then I'll be putting it here for all you good people to see. I think it may be more work related than random thoughts and streams of consciousness but I can't promise anything! Hopefully you'll be entertained either way.
