Oooooo Matron

I had to go and meet a Matron yesterday. Unfortunately she was out, at a last minute meeting but I met the Sister instead. This sister was no ordinary sister. She wears a dark red hat - not unlike a salvation army band style little bowler, lapels with medals/badges on them and a very neatly pressed red skirt and white blouse. A bit smarter than an overwashed tunic and trousers on Grand Union ward, although I know what I would prefer! She is also dealing with a measles outbreak! Apparently adults are getting it, because they haven't been vaccinated. Almost all the children have been vaccinated as part of their childhood immunisations, so they are protected - note to MMR scaremongers!

I heard recently that he doctor who did the original test has been taken to court for malpractice, he was horrible to the children, took blood, and did lumber punctures when e didn't need to.... paid children for blood at parties, and generally had no care for the child's pain. ooo er!
